I finally loaded up all of the MidCentury Modern Remodel/Restoration Blogs I could find in my Google reader. What good timing…The “Meanwhile Back at the Ranch” Blog has a great post discussing how saving and using/restoring original windows is good for the environment. We had planned on doing several of these for our five original casement aluminum windows, but this post is really and detailed (and described much better than my non-technical lingo).
From “Meanwhile Back at the Ranch” – Don’t replace your windows – it’s not green or saving green!
For your viewing pleasure, a picture of one of the original aluminum casement windows that we don’t want to replace…we’re working with a local preservation consultant to repair/remediate them…

Your sink was designed by Henry Dreyfuss in 1936 Produced by Crane company, Chicago, Illinois. You can find a few pictures in the book American Streamlined Design – The world of Tomorrow by David A. Hanks and Anne Hoy. Page141
I also have one of these sinks on chrome legs. I couldn’t resist buying it when I spotted it at a yard sale.
Thanks so much Manual! I found it in another book that mentioned Henry Dreyfuss, but hadn’t found this book. I just added the book to my Amazon list.
