Volkswagen Commercial with a Great Mid-Mod House

by lesley on May 7, 2009

I now worship at the feet of and her website. She lives in an Eichler neighborhood in Southern California and apparently gets all of the mid-mod scoop. She just posted this VW commercial via Twitter tonight. The commercial was filmed at the house next door. Lucky girl!

Look at the beautiful Eichler house! If you watch really closely, you’ll see a very nice exterior Remcraft light. These are the lights we are buying for our house. Nice that I got to see them in action.

Now, it appears that I’m advertising for VW here. Well, why not? I love my VW Golf and Tim has had a few VW buses in his life. Happy to spread the good word, especially since VW is nice enough to show some mid-mod love.

Hi Rich, I can’t tell for sure about the light on the left, but it’s either a Remcraft or another common light from the 50’s. If it’s a Remcraft light, they can be used outside, but they need a little shield inside to keep the water out. And, then you need to caulk around the edges where the light is mounted. We have similar ones on our house.

Now, about the VW commercial…I have been so out of the loop with TV lately that I haven’t seen the commercial. I’m going to look it up. I’m getting a lot of searches to my site. I’m subscribed to the VW youtube channel because they seem to post most all of their commercials there, but I can’t find it.
I’ll be on the lookout!
